Volunteer With Us at Pet Resource Center of Kansas City

volunteers 2026

At Pet Resource Center of Kansas City, volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. Every vaccination given, every pet recovering from surgery, every family supported — it all happens because people in our community choose to show up for pets and the people who love them.

Whether you’re looking to give back regularly or want to volunteer when your schedule allows, we offer a variety of meaningful opportunities to get involved.

Why Volunteer With PRCKC?

Our motto is simple but powerful: Keeping Pets and People Together. By volunteering with us, you’ll help remove barriers to veterinary care, keep pets healthy, and support families when they need our help the most..

Volunteering with PRCKC means:

  • Making a direct impact on pets and their people
  • Supporting affordable, accessible veterinary care
  • Being part of a compassionate, mission-driven team
  • Learning new skills and gaining hands-on experience
  • Helping keep pets with the families who love them

Volunteer Time Off (VTO)

Some employers offer Volunteer Time Off (VTO) — paid hours employees can use to volunteer with nonprofit organizations. If your workplace offers VTO, PRCKC is a great place to use it while making a real difference for pets in our community.

If you’re not sure whether your employer offers VTO, we encourage you to ask — you might be surprised by the options available.

Who Can Volunteer?

We welcome volunteers from all walks of life. While specific roles may have age or training requirements, many opportunities are available for:

  • Individuals
  • Students
  • Corporate groups
  • Families
  • Animal lovers looking to give back

No veterinary experience is required for many positions — just compassion, reliability, and a willingness to help.
