My name is Sammy Snow. I have been a Kansas City area resident for five years now. My passion for animal welfare truly started when my husband and I adopted our dog, George. Fortunately, George was rescued from a dog meat farm in South Korea. Watching him grow from incredibly scared to completely trusting of us has been amazing. Animals are resilient and they truly deserve to receive all the help they can get. We adopted one of our other dogs, Kali, a year later.
Next, I started working for a pet insurance agency called Companion Protect. They are based in Overland Park, KS. I am an Account Executive for our shelter partners department. So, I get to work with animal shelters across the country. My experience has shown me just how much work still needs to be done to help pets. There is a need for resources and education in every community. While there are many organizations working very hard to do just that, any additional help is beneficial to progress. As I watched the shelter team members work hard to provide those resources, I realized that I need to contribute more, as well. That is when I found the opportunity to volunteer and serve on the Young Professionals Board of Pet Resource Center Kansas City! Their mission is one that I truly believe in and am happy to be a part of. I want to help increase animal education and resources in hopes of keeping pets in their homes.
I enjoy reading, travel and finding cool local places. I am also currently trying to figure out how to be a plant person. I always love snuggling with our three dogs Olly, George, and Kali, as well!
