I began volunteering for the Pet Resource Center of Kansas City in 2019 shortly after moving to Kansas City with my husband, Chris, and our big floofy cat, Mac. Although my love of animals started young, my passion for animal welfare started while in college at Truman State University in Kirksville, MO, which has a large population of unhoused dogs and cats. I was privileged to serve as a Board Member and Treasurer of the local animal rescue for a year which allowed me to see the dark reality of pet abandonment and solidified my desire help prevent pet homelessness. While researching ways to get involved in Kansas City, I was quickly drawn to PRCKC’s mission as well as their commitment to growth and their community.
I now work as a Senior Accountant for a large independent insurance brokerage, and previously worked as an auditor at a public accounting firm where I earned my (now inactive) CPA license.
I fill my free time with other passions: spending time with family/friends, travel, and books. I also enjoy daily outdoor walks, no matter the weather, and giving my cat near constant cuddles/compliments while I work remotely.
